I do that job.

Telling your story is a separate job from running your business. Here is how I do it, the way a newsroom would.

01

Press releases

Written so an editor opens them, and pitched to the person who decides.

A release only works if someone at the paper reads past the subject line. I write it the way an editor needs it, with the news up top and the details they will want to check, then send it to the reporter or editor who covers your beat, by name.

02

Articles for your site

Reported and written, not filler built around keywords.

Articles that read like a local feature: an interview with you or your customers, the facts checked, a headline that earns the click. Useful to the people searching for you, and something you will be glad to share.

03

Photography

Images you own and can use anywhere, as long as you like.

Headshots, your space, your team at work, the event you sponsored. Shot on location, edited and delivered with commercial rights, so the same photos can carry your website, your social feeds and your next press release.

04

Podcast production

Recorded, edited and published, with show notes and clips.

I produce a weekly radio program myself: the writing, the interviews and the audio editing. The same process works for a business podcast, from planning the episode and cleaning up the sound to writing the show notes and cutting short clips for social.

05

Social media

Posted on a schedule, in a voice that sounds like you.

A steady calendar of posts on the platforms your customers actually use, built from real news about your business, with replies handled and a plain-English report each month on what worked.

Why an editor

I’ve been on the other side of the inbox.

I spent more than a decade as an editor in this market, on the receiving end of the press releases. I know which ones ran, which ones didn’t, and who makes that call at outlets from Albany to Saratoga.

Straight answer

What I don’t do

Paid ad management. Website builds. Logos and brand identity. Those are real skills and I don’t have them. If you need one, I’ll tell you who does.
